OUR HISTORY
In 1978, Nikolaos Petrakis founded in Piraeus (Attica), a small family-based company dedicated to the Road Haulage.
In the early 80, the flourishing of the Greek automotive sector presented the opportunity to provide road freight services in this area with high growth prospects.
As time passed, these transport activities became more and more specialized, to the point of turning into the company´s main activity.
With a second generation at the helm, Thomas Petrakis and Konstantinos Petrakis, the company is proud to build on its legacy and continue its strong family tradition.
Since our early days in Piraeus, we have successfully established ourselves as a leading Transport and Logistics company as well as a reliable business partner.
This is our history, thanks to the vision, effort and leadership of Nikolaos Petrakis, the company´s founder, President and CEO.

MILESTONES
Nikolaos Petrakis gets his general freight permit and goes into business with a single truck running in the area of Attica prefecture.
Following the award of several business contracts from companies in the Automotive sector, N. Petrakis acquired 4 delivery trucks in order to provide distribution services in the Attica prefecture.
The first privately owned facility was established in Piraeus with prime target to cover the Cross-Docking operations of the company.
N. Petrakis extends his operations to the north part of Greece. The 1st Hub was established at Kalochori industrial area, a few kilometers away from Thessaloniki and started to provide Transport & Logistics services to Clients located in the city of Thessaloniki as well as in all neighbouring prefectures.
The Company invests in the market for new vehicles and the fleet is increased to 15 vehicles.
N. Petrakis Private Company expands its Transportation Services throughout Greece by developing strategic partnerships with Road Haulage Partners. These partnerships allowed us to cover consignment sizes from a single case to full loads.
The sons of N. Petrakis, Kostas and Thomas Petrakis, join the family business.
The company strengthens further its business activities with the establishment of the 2nd Hub located in Votanikos area (Athens).
The company moved to a brand-new and privately-owned facility which includes a 2.000 square meters storage area including Cross-Docking operations, and 350 square meters space for office use.
The construction of this modern logistics centre in Elefsina -Attica strengthened our logistics operations and allowed us to expand significantly our business. The property is in close proximity to the Port of Piraeus and has fast access to the national highways that are leading to South and North Greece.
As of March 2006, the company is registered as Petrakis S.A. (Société Anonyme), expands further its business activities and operates as a 3RD Party Logistics Provider.
Petrakis S.A. adds new services to its Clients providing Bonded Warehouse facilities and Customs Clearance.
On November 2008, Petrakis S.A. expanded its presence in the Greek market by extending its activities on the sector of Courier Services. A new company was entered in the commercial register under the name of FFW Courier.
Petrakis S.A. was certified with ISO 9001: 2008 – Quality Management
3 new Long Wheel base Vans were added in the company’s fleet which now counts a total of 35 vehicles.
Petrakis S.A. equipped all its vehicles with advanced Telematics Systems that transfer real-time data to its central offices for an effective management of its fleet. Telematics Systems provide on a daily basis, a continuous monitoring on the fuel efficiency, alert for maintenance issues, improve security and road safety and enhance communication, navigation and delivery process.
During the 1st semester of 2018, Petrakis S.A. was certified with the following new accreditations:

- ISO 14001/2015
- ISO 36001
- OHSAS 18001
On November 2018, Petrakis S.A. is celebrating its 40 Years Anniversary and continues to be one of the country’s most reliable Transport & Logistics companies.
